Prologue

On a battlefield fought on a green huge open field between two kingdoms, one of the Last Order and the second one of the New Order. The Last Order soldiers wore bloody red leather clothes and armor, while the New Order wore white clothes and silver armor. Last Order army had at least three thousand soldiers while the other side only had two thousand and of course, they were on the losing side.

Many small skirmishes were fought on the battlefield while the main army was exchanging hits with magical attacks and long range attacks and sending units into the battlefield tactically, in one of those small skirmishes a young man could be seen fighting for his life against three opponents, surrounded by the dead bodies of his comrades.

Few deep wounds could be seen on the young man body, despair and fear are seen in his eyes, it’s really unlikely for him to survive this battle. He is parrying and dodging every possible attack but still, his death is inevitable he will lose this fight for sure at any moment now.

One of the soldiers in a bloody red armor released eerie thrust towards the young man, it got him by surprise. He could barely dodge it backward but for his unfortunate, he lost his footing and fell on a big stone that was located behind him.

Because of the fierce combat, he didn’t even notice his surroundings and that brought his inevitable demise. The soldier released another thrust at the young man, it pierced his chest and blood splashed everywhere. Knowing that the young man will surely die from this wound the group of the three soldiers left him there as he was.

Blood slowly was seeping from the young man into the surroundings, a small and completely black bush was located just near the stone that the young man was leaning on, it looked withered and dead but at the same time it gave off an eerie feeling. The blood reached the bush and a weak red glow could be seen from the cracks on its branches, it gave the bush a weird feeling as if it was feeding on the essence of the blood itself.

Fading light could be seen in the eyes of the young man as he gazed into the battlefield with an expression of regret and loss, but just before the last strand of light faded away the roots of the small bush flew towards the young man piercing and entering his body through his wounds.

If the young man could scream surely his voice would be heard on all of the battlefield. His body convulsed as if he had a seizure, but stopped after just a few brief moments.

The young man slowly stood from the ground, few branches of the black bush could be still seen picking out of his wound on his chest, but for some weird reason no blood was seen coming from it anymore and from the other wounds as well, the expression of complete despair disappear from his eyes, in its place a twisted expression could be seen that send chills to all that saw it.

The soldiers that were leaving noticed that the young man suddenly standing up again, so they changed their direction back to finish their job. They didn’t know how the young man was able to stand up from those wounds because only the highest grade elixir could do something about them and there was no way for a normal soldier to acquire it.

Coming closer to the young man they started to slow down in their tracks because they could feel a weird feeling coming from him that didn’t come from him before. They didn’t want to take any chances so they jumped on him immediately together, three swords flew straight at the young man but he didn’t try to dodge them.

The blades entered his body from different directions but for some reason, they weren’t able to pierce deeply at all as if they hit a rock on the way in.

The young man released a creepy voice. “Thanks, as a reward I will massacre those idiots.” The voice reminded the calls of the dead, the soldiers faces paled as if they heard the voice of the grim reaper himself.

Just as the young man finished the sentence with his eerie voice, roots flew from him straight to the three soldiers impaling them right through. The soldiers screamed in pain as they slowly were raised few centimeters from the ground, their screams didn’t last for long as they slowly choked on their own blood.

“Hmm just a half, I need more.” The young man said while looking at a group of fifteen soldiers in red armors that were sent at him from the main army. The three soldiers fell onto the ground and the young man ran with great speed at the fifteen group after picking up a sword from one of the fallen soldiers.

Because of the screams of their fallen comrades, the group was already waiting for the young man in a battle formation.

“He is at least a rank C adventure be ready and don’t underestimate him or it will cost you your life!” One person of the group shouted, all the other people shouted back in union. “Yes, sir!”

The young man was already three meters away from them, the first line in the formation raised their swords to intercept with the young man.

But for their surprise, the young man jumped in the air and bend his upper body to a weird shape and released a terrible slash. Blood splattered everywhere as pieces of metal flew up into the air, those pieces were the swords of the five soldiers that were in the first line of the formation.

“B rank!” The man screamed from the middle of the formation as his face lost all its color. But even before the other soldiers could react the young man already released two more slashes killing them all, barely leaving even one corpse in one piece.

“Oops, I should have left few alive, well whatever the blood will be enough.” He lowered his body and released few roots into one of the nearby bodies.

Barely half a minute passed and the young man looked up in the air with a smile. “What a nice greeting!” Hundreds of fireballs flew at his direction from the sky, they came from the main part of the army from one of its mages squad.

The young man placed one of his hands on the ground and shouted. “Collapse!” The ground shook again and again as a huge ravine opened in front of the young man, without much care he jumped into it as if it was a normal sight to behold.

The mages looked in shock at the newly formed ravine that was stretching for the distance of half a kilometer right at them. “What the hell is that?” One of them asked.

“It’s an A rank adventure! Ready a grand smiting spell!” A knight in a dark red armor gave out a command.

“A rank!” Panic was coming from all of the soldiers in the army of the three thousand.

“No way our captain is only a B rank…” one of them said in despair.

Barely a minute passed and something already emerged from the ravine it was the young man but he didn’t even look human. The young man was completely surrounded by thick branches, his height and width changed drastically and he looked more like a huge tree in a human shape.

He flew towards the army and started to kill soldiers right and left, each of his strikes with his claws would take a life of at least one soldier. He moved deeper and deeper into the small army leaving a bloody trail after him.

One of the mages said. “It’s ready!”

“Good released it at him.” The captain with a bloody dark armor said.

“But, but if we do so hundreds of our own man will be killed!” His voice was bitter because he knew that there was no other way.

“If we won’t release it all of our army will be dead! Release it’s an order!” He said with an indifferent voice as if lives of hundreds didn’t matter to him at all.

The mage didn’t say anything back and just nodded to the others. A huge magical circle that was on the ground between them started to glow, a huge mana spiral was released from the fifty mages into it.

The mage opened his eyes and pointed with his big staff at the direction of the massacre. At that location, a huge magical circle appeared above the ground and from it, a pillar of flames emerged as if from thin air, it engulfed the young man and his surroundings.

The pillar was at least two hundred meters long and thirty meters wide, everything inside it died immediately but everything outside it wasn’t spared either if it was in a radius of fifty meters from the pillar it would surely be at flames.

There were those lucky ones that were far enough to have only their clothes get caught on fire, but those soldiers that were closer to the pillar screamed in pain and horror, while their flesh burned down and their white bones could be seen with the naked eye.

The knight in the bloody dark armor said. “Good not even an A rank can survive that.” The expression on his face didn’t change even when he saw his comrades burn to death, but the faces of the few mages were different, grief could be seen in their eyes.

The captain gave an order of retreat for the army, few magic signals were sent into the air with them the scattered soldiers slowly came back and regrouped. The other army started to chase and slaughter the retreating army but for some reason, they got the retreat signal as well.

The flame pillar was standing in the sky and slowly started to disappear after few minutes, everything in its vicinity was killed and destroyed. But just as it vanished a devastating aura of death came out from the center where the pillar was, all of the soldiers on the battlefield stood in their tracks and could barely breathe even though the distance of the New Order army was quite vast they still were under the aura’s effect.

A heavy voice could be heard on all the battlefield, the voice could be heard through the soul and not through the ears because of that even the deaf could hear and feel its presence, no one on the battlefield could shake it off.

“That was really painful!”

A young man was in the air few meters from the ground where the flame pillar was, most of his clothes were burned and half of his upper body was burned as well, the burn mark ended just after his left eye, but for some reason that eye wasn’t destroyed but became scarlet red and released weird pulses of fire once in awhile.

“I know this one hmm, what was its name again? Oh right, Hell’s fire pillar!” He screamed as he raised his arm, three huge magical circles stacked on each other appeared one after another above his hand.

Horror could be seen in the eyes of all the mages, even the captain unfazed expression changed into one of shock and despair.

“I never heard of an A rank battle mage…”

The other mages couldn’t believe their own eyes either, they were creating a grand magic formation for over a day on their location and this person did all that in an instant even an A rank mage could not do something like that.

Doom and despair could be seen from the red army soldiers and mages alike, many of them tried to flee but their movement was sluggish because of the heavy aura that was still pressing on them.

“Die!” Only one word was heard after a minute of silence and after it, a pillar hundred meters wide and a kilometer high appeared on the battlefield. Most of the red army vanished in a second, even many of the white army’s soldiers vanished as well with them.

The dark red armored knight could only curse his own fate as he saw the pillar of fire descend upon him.

*Few days have passed*

These days people only talked about what happened on the battlefield, the flame pillar could be seen for so far away that everyone on the continent already knew about it.

A young man was sleeping on a big bed, there was a huge burn on his upper body he slowly opened his eyes and one of them was scarlet red.

“He woke up! He woke up!” One of the soldiers that were guarding the young man ran through a corridor shouting.

Few minutes passed and an old man entered the room, he looked at the young man and asked him a question.

“How do you feel young hero?”

The young man looked at him confused and said. “Sorry I don’t quite understand what you saying, and how did I get here?”

“Don’t tell me you don’t remember?” The old man asked him in surprise.

The young man shook his head in confusion.

This was the beginning of a great hero with the title of the red-eyed fire demon, but as you already could guess he isn’t the protagonist of our story because our protagonist currently walking on a lonely forgotten road with a big eerie smile on his face.
